A central glass hall connects the building's two halves (© Dorfmüller | Kröger | Klier)
Special notes:
Two distinct blocks, separated cleanly by a shining, translucent center: the building is evocative of Hamburg’s many inner city canals – a renowned, historic feature of Germany’s largest port city. A central glass hall connects the structure’s two blocks, providing a thematic break and spectacular views of Hamburg’s historic Speicherstadt warehouse district as well as the vintage vessels and museum ships moored in the Sandtorhafen harbor basin below.
