Special notes:
The surrounding waterways had a strong influence on the architects at Jan Störmer Partner when they designed Kühne + Nagel’s new German headquarters. The building’s three-story foyer faces the Grasbrookhafen marina, its frontage allowing sweeping views of the water. From the 12-story high-rise, Kühne + Nagel employees and customers are able to enjoy panoramic views of downtown Hamburg as well as the city’s historic Speicherstadt warehouse district – also taking in the concert hall planned for the Kaispeicher A warehouse as well as the surrounding port area. The centerpiece of the entire complex is an internal courtyard, featuring plenty of greenery. "We wanted to create a building that dialogs closely with its immediate vicinity," explained architect Jan Störmer.
