Serving as a visitor center, the pavilion for the Elbphilharmonie Concert Hall at the Magellan Terraces gives locals and tourists from around the world valuable information about HafenCity’s beacon project. The most spectacular exhibit can be seen on the second floor of the cubist building: a 1:10 model of the large concert auditorium, visible from outside. Acoustic engineers from the Japanese engineering firm, Nagata Acoustics, originally designed it for trials during the planning phase.
The main exhibition is on the ground floor of the pavilion, along both sides of a ten meter long central passageway. It contains information about the design as well as the use of the Elbphilharmonie Concert Hall. Viewing and listening cones on the façade offer audiovisual exhibits. There is an event and conference room on the first floor of the pavilion, which is available for hire.
