Gruner + Jahr: Caruso St John designs winning architectural scheme

London architects Caruso St John have won the competition to construct the new Gruner + Jahr publishing house headquarters on Am Lohsepark, HafenCity. The panel, made up of representatives from the city, architects, investor Warburg-HIH Invest Real Estate, project developer HIH Real Estate and Gruner + Jahr, voted unanimously for the design, which features striking green-enameled ceramic struts and three partially covered interior courtyards more

Lee Kuan Yew World City Prize: Special Mention

The Lee Kuan Yew World City Prize, one of the most prestigious city prizes in the world, was awarded in Singapore on Monday, 9 July 2018. The grand prize went to South Korea’s capital, Seoul. HafenCity also received an important distinction: Hamburg (Germany), Tokyo (Japan), Kazan (Russia), and Surabaya (Indonesia) each earned a Special Mention. HafenCity Hamburg: State of development

HafenCity is being developed from west to east and from north to south – 68 projects are completed and another 71 under construction or in the planning stage; deals through sale of land or exclusive options have been closed on around 1.8 million sqm GFA.
