The presentation of current developments and a joint discussion were broadcast via livestream. Questions could be submitted live via chat and in advance by email, fax or post.
Since public exchange with the residents of HafenCity is very important to us, we will continue to provide information on construction progress and other fundamental developments in HafenCity, and exchange views as best we can, even though the general conditions are still exceptional.

On November 26, 2020 the popular information and discussion event for HafenCity residents thus took place largely online once more, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. The presentation of current developments and a joint discussion were broadcast via livestream. Questions could be submitted live via chat and in advance by email, fax or post. After an overview of current developments by Prof. Jürgen Bruns-Berentelg (CEO of HafenCity Hamburg GmbH) Dr Matthias Borscheid (responsible at HafenCity Hamburg GmbH for civil society topics and social processes) reported on the state of play on neighborhood management.

In the second part of the event, a discussion session tackled topics of importance to the neighborhood association
Netzwerk HafenCity e.V. and people in HafenCity. Guests in the discussion were Marianne Wellershoff and Wolfgang Timpe from the board of Netzwerk HafenCity e. V., who presented the association’s activities and goals and discussed with Prof. Bruns-Berentelg topics that concern people in HafenCity. The discussion was stimulated by numerous contributions from the online chat.

A broad range of issues was discussed, such as the state of construction of individual projects, the potential for more areas for additional green space in HafenCity, mobility and traffic issues, the everyday shopping situation and the topic of refugee accommodation in HafenCity. District police officer Bernd Steffen from police department 14 contributed to the clarification of questions regarding matters of police jurisdiction.

We are grateful for the many questions, suggestions and understanding for the exceptional circumstances. By clicking on the link below you will find all the questions asked and answered before and during the event.
